Late last year, London wordsmith Ashden dropped off debut project Conversations With Myself, a soul-searching collection of experimental hip-hop, packed with layers of lyricism and errant pop culture references. A true window into the mind of the artist, most interesting across the EP is "Shango", a stark and hypnotic anthem, calling on the name of the powerful African deity.
