For her first solo cut in years, Kelly Rowland has gone the eponymous route.

The just-released "Kelly" sees Rowland reminding everyone she has "class, ass, a man, whips, drip," and much more. Stream the awesomely confident new single up top via YouTube.

In an interview with Broadly over the summer, Rowland offered a quick update on the status of new music. "I am very excited, after this I am rushing back to LA to finish some tracks," she said at the time. Just one month later, she detailed the unintentional hiatus she had been in since releasing her 2013 album Talk a Good Game.

"I was thinking about pulling back from recording but I couldn't help myself: I still wanted to record," she toldVogue Australia in July. "I still felt like I was missing something. The third year just came and left so fast. The fourth year I said: 'I have to get to work' and now I’m ready to release some music!"

The album has been described as her most personal work to date, something she expounded on in the same interview without giving too much away.

"It's about love, loss, and gain and whether it's professional or with family or whatever, it's just honest," she said earlier this year. "I had no choice but to be honest and authentic with this record: it's about friendship and marriage.' The album also already has a title and a cover piece, though neither have been unveiled to fans just yet.
