Music guru and national treasure, Nardwuar, is back with an excellent new interview. Following some great chats with Denzel Curry, Leon Bridges, and pop outfit Superorganism, the Human Serviette turned his attention this week to TDE emcee, Jay Rock.

The rapper, who recently unleashed his third studio album Redemption, linked up with Nardwuar in Vancouver to discuss his beginnings in the industry, musical influences, and classic television shows. Much like every other video on his channel, Nardwuar is full of surprises and delves deep into Jay Rock's history — right off the bat, the "King's Dead" hitmaker is asked about his time running away from future label boss, Anthony Tiffith.

About four minutes in, Jay is gifted with a vinyl record that's surely a rap aficionado's dream: an early pressing of his joint effort with Kendrick Lamar, who at the time went by the moniker, K-Dot. Easily another highlight of the video is when fellow TDE artist, Reason, joins the conversation and gets a blast from the past courtesy of Nardwuar's vault. Before he gets comfortable, Nard pulls out an old photo from Reason's days as a basketball player. You can watch it all unfold above via YouTube.

In related news, revisit Nardwuar's interview with Lil Pump from earlier this summer.
