Post Malone is wrapping up an extremely busy and successful 2018 on a high note. The rapper stopped by The Tonight Show to talk about his upcoming inaugural Posty Fest in Dallas and shared a peak of the song he created for the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse coming this December.
In the 10-second preview of “Sunflower,” linked in the video above, we can hear Post croon “I’m so fired up/You’re a sunflower/I think your love would be too much.” There’s no word on when the vibe-y track will hit streaming services.
Elsewhere during his visit with Jimmy Fallon, Post discusses his early days entering the music industry, which involved playing a lot of Guitar Hero. “I never expected anything ever,” Post said, talking about his debut smash “White Iverson.” “Nobody wanted me to put the song out...I woke up and Wiz Khalifa tweeted me. Rest in Peace Mac Miller tweeted me.”
The conversation naturally turns to Malone’s tattoos, which he explained were motivated by his friend Justin Bieber. “We were working on Stoney, and then we had a tattoo artist come through,” he said. “I was just like ‘You know what, Justin Bieber has some tats, and I love you, but I know I’m way tougher than you.’”
Shortly after getting the tattoo, Bieber also ruined it. “We played basketball two days later and he knocked the whole thing off,” Post Malone said. “It was just blood dripping down my hand. It kind of looks like my tattoo got dropped in lava.”
Post also promoted his first annual Posty Fest, which happens on Oct. 28 in Dallas. He released the lineup for the fest this week, including performances by Travis Scott, Tyler, the Creator, Tierra Whack, and more. Watch that clip below.
Malone and Fallon were also seen Monday night at Paddy Reilly’s Music Bar in Manhattan, where the Blast says they were "downing Irish car bombs before grabbing a pint and belting out a round of 'No, Nay, Never.'” Oh, and there's video.
