Deep into Lil Wayne's long-awaited Carter V, Nivea—with whom he was previously in a relationship—contributes a chorus on "Dope New Gospel."

During her appearance on The Breakfast Club Friday morning, Nivea spoke a bit on how the track came together and noted that she's awaiting the resulting check. "Yes, Carter V, we did that song a year ago," Nivea said around the 18-minute mark in the video up top. "He sent it to me. He said 'I'm about to send you some records,' and he sent that and I wrote the hook and sent it back and he said 'I love it!' but I hadn't heard nothing about it since until, like, a month ago. He said 'You're on Tha Carter V, I'm using the song.' I'm like 'What? '"

As for that money, Nivea said: "Not yet. I'm waitin' on that check." Of course, royalties aren't immediate and Nivea wasn't saying this with any malice.

Elsewhere, Nivea discussed her return to music. "My children and me," she said when asked what inspired her to get back into it. "I didn't become a singer at first because I wanted to sing. This time I'm like 'You wanna do this?' I can't help it. Music is in my family and my children, like, they are so talented. All four of 'em sing and songwrite."

Currently, Nivea expects to take her new music out on the road and is also planning to feature her children on the new album.

Last month, Nivea released her new single "Circles."
