When sound problems threaten to derail your moment, just take a note from the Denzel Curry playbook.
During his set at Emo's in Austin, Texas on Sunday night, Curry was hit with several interruptions due to some supremely unfortunate sound-related issues. However, instead of letting it force him to hit the pause button on the performance, Curry kept it rolling with a freestyle.
At one point, Curry even joined the audience for an impromptu Q&A session. "I wanted to give y’all a really good show and shit. ... It's not even about the money with me, bro," Curry is heard saying in one clip. "I don't give a fuck about that shit. That shit's gone come and go. Some of y'all drove from far distances. ... There's a lot of y'all that’s got school tomorrow that drove far distances and got a lot of shit going on, so I'm just gonna sit here and talk to y'all and just answer questions."
Curry is currently on the road in promotion of his three-act album TA13OO, featuring guest appearances by Billie Eilish and JPEGMAFIA. "I wanted the album to go fucking backwards because usually I start off really dark and then I go light," Curry told Complex back in July. "I was like, no, light to dark. I just wanted that. Imagine a plant, right, and it just turns to shit. ... That's how I wanted the album to sound like."
The tour continues Tuesday at the Launchpad in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Head here for a full list of dates.
