Devonté Hynes, aka Blood Orange, never disappoints when it comes to dropping beautiful visuals to accompany his gorgeously composed records. This new video for “Chewing Gum,” featuring ASAP Rocky and Project Pat, is no different.

In the video, Rocky and Dev literally go off the beaten path. The shirtless collaborators go off-road on four-wheelers, followed by the tail of their long and colorful durags. Pink for Hynes. Blue for ASAP.

“Chewing Gum” is a standout track on Blood Orange’s latest album, Negro Swan, which dropped at the end of August. He first debuted the song during a performance on Jimmy Kimmel ahead of his album. This new video, directed by Hynes himself, follows his visuals for “Saint,” Charcoal Baby,” and “Jewelry,” and accompanies the physical release of Negro Swan. The album is now available on vinyl and most record stores that have good taste.

“My newest album is an exploration into my own and many types of black depression, an honest look at the corners of black existence, and the ongoing anxieties of queer/people of color,” Hynes said of his latest offering. “A reach back into childhood and modern traumas, and the things we do to get through it all. The underlying thread through each piece on the album is the idea of HOPE, and the lights we can try to turn on within ourselves with a hopefully positive outcome of helping others out of their darkness.”
