UK rapper Slowthai returns today with a brand new project. Lighting up social media in the early hours of this morning, the Northampton MC gifted us with a five-track EP entitled RUNT. Five well-balanced tracks form the backbone of this set — one which is wholly raw and bleak. The middleman of the EP, "GTFOMF", is as loud as it is brilliant, with aggression at every corner of track.
Emotion is a strong drivetrain for this project — an uncaged account of Slowthai's life and upbringing. It helps paint a vivid picture of a landscape that wasn't always loitered with sunshine and blue skies: there were many cloudy, grey days in this young man's life. But this is 'thai's beautiful transition; this is him becoming free from the cocoon and being able to spread his wings.
Never judge a book by its cover, because the runt of the litter may just become the best of the bunch. RUNT is ready for your speakers, and you've got just enough time to get familiar before Slowthai's Circus Tour kicks off on Monday.
