According to projections by Hits Daily Double, Drizzy’s wildly successful Scorpion album will soon lose the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. And who is expected to take his place? His recent collaborator Travis Scott.
HHD reports La Flame’s newly released ASTROWORLD album will debut at the top spot next week, moving an estimated 300,000 to 400,000 copies within its first seven days; 45,000 to 65,000 will come from pure sales.
If the projections are correct, ASTROWORLD will mark Travis’ biggest project debut yet. His 2015 Rodeo album moved 90,940 copies in its first week, while 2016’s Birds in the Trap Sing McKnightmoved 88,000.
As of Saturday night, ASTROWORLD was dominating Apple Music’s chart, with all 17 tracks landing in the top 20. Travis’ “Sicko Mode” record featuring Drake sits atop the list.
“ASTROWORLD’s been set in stone since Rodeo,” Travis told Zane Lowe last week. “My whole idea was if you locked in to Rodeo, you definitely locked into ASTROWORLD. I’m just finishing the saga I started on my first album. This is supposed to be my second album. I had to go quick, because like I said, I had all these ideas, I just had to get off real quick, but now I’m finally back home with ASTROWORLD.”
