Two months ago, video emerged of Tee Grizzley and PnB Rock bouncing around in the studio as they cooked up a bouncy, bass-heavy new song. Without warning, the final studio version arrived on Tuesday in the form of "No Rap Cap," and it comes complete with a BeMVP-directed music video. "The streets been waitin for this on God," PnB Rock wrote as he shared the link on Instagram.

Against dimly lit industrial backdrops, Grizzley drops a Queen Latifah reference before reciting the line we first heard in the studio footage: "You can't make it out Detroit 'less you play basketball."

The song arrives three months after the May release of Tee Grizzley's new album, Activated. The 300 Entertainment-backed project debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and his since racked up over 134 million streams, according to a press release.

"No Rap Cap" was released just hours after Grizzley started making headlines Tuesday afternoon for an arrest in Detroit on August 23 due to a parole violation. According to a report from Click On Detroit, Grizzley was taken into custody last Thursday for violating his parole, which would have ended on October 18, 2018. Further details on the arrest have not yet been made public.
