When Nicki Minaj dropped Queen, the rap community collectively freaked out over "Barbie Dreams." The light-hearted track, which Nicki insists isn't a diss towards anyone mentioned on it, takes aim at pretty much every relevant rapper out right now, including some of her closest collaborators. Quavo, who was mentioned on the song alongside a number of other high-profile rappers, was just as blindsided as everyone else when it dropped.

Speaking with Nessa of Hot 97, Quavo says that he's definitely a fan of the song and Nicki in general. "What did you think when you first heard Nicki talk about you in 'Barbie Dreams,'" Nessa asked at the 4:24 mark of the interview. "Yeah I laughed, it was funny," he responded, adding that he wasn't aware of the song before it dropped. "I guess I'm surprised as the rest of y'all. I heard the album before it dropped, but I ain't hear that record. But yeah she dope, the album was fire."

On the song, Nicki rapped, "Somebody go and make sure Karrueche okay though/I heard she think I'm tryna' give the coochie to Quavo." In 2017, actress and model Karrueche Tran dated Quavo, although they've since split. Around the time, it was reported that the couple split so Tran could focus on her career, although rumors circulated that Quavo and Nicki were dating when they were spotted together at Coachella.

During his chat with Nessa, Quavo also teased that more solo music from him was on the way. When asked about whether these singles are leading up to an album at the 1:50 point of the interview, he replied, "I'm just doing my thing right now, just having fun putting records out. You never know."
