Leeds-based label 1Forty have just announced a brand new project, Females Of 1Forty, a release and initiative designed to push female talent in the various scenes the label dips its toe in. Dropping Aug. 14, the new EP features four tracks from four artists in four different genres: UK funky, UK garage, bass music and grime. To hook you in, we're bringing you the grime cut from Bristol DJ, producer and radio regular L U C Y. "Shook" is the name of her contribution and with it she's given us a cold, sparse and unforgiving production which she describes as "a grime instrumental made with a vision just for MCs to spit over on sets, sampling an old horror film vinyl." Perfect.
