As the title suggests, Horsepowar's new song "Bold Woman" is driven by a triumphant display of self-confidence.

"This song holds a lot of weight," the Vancouver-based artist tells Complex. "Only recently did I realize and learn to love that I am a bold woman. I challenge myself and always stay authentic. I was lucky to come across Rey Resurreccion and he was able to take my heart and words and find the right musical journey."

Over shape-shifting production from Resurreccion, Horsepowar displays a range of abilities as she slips lush melodic vocal runs between self-assured raps. To accompany the track's strong-willed energy, she enlisted director Masooma Ali and editor Eesha Wajahat for a dramatic set of visuals that make use of Super 8 film and soft effects to drive home a vintage feel.

"When it came to the visuals for this song, I linked up with filmmakers, Masooma Ali and Eesha Wajahat, both bold women!" she says. "It was empowering creating this piece with strong women of color. It fueled me with confidence, belief, and an abundance of love."
