"We really took our time on this," Douglasville, Georgia-based Fool's Gold signee Hugo Joe says of his new Hugo Dro EP. "We recorded a plethora of tunes together but we wanted to keep it short and to the point."
The resulting seven-track project, premiering today on Complex, was produced by "Sade"-helmer MexikoDro (who's previously worked with Playboi Carti, Yung Bans, and more). Despite the "short and to the point" approach, there were delays in the creative process that both artists had to overcome. "In between us recording this me and Mexiko both went to jail back to back," Hugo Joe told Complex. "After I was released he went in and after he was released I went in, which also had something to do with why it took us so long to put it out, but I'm glad that it's finally out for our fans and supporters to listen and enjoy!"
Joe also recruited Guapdad 4000, Lil Freaky, and Flee for the sessions. Stream the full EP below via SoundCloud.
