Wiley's Godfather II may still be a recent addition to our playlists, but it's already been usurped as his biggest news of the year. Earlier today, it was announced that Wiley had signed a deal with Pulse Films and BMG to create a biopic dramatising his journey from his childhood in Bow to the beginnings of his fame.

Adam Smith (who's directed videos for The Chemical Brothers, The Streets and the video for "Wot Do U Call It?") will direct the film while playwright, author and poet Sabrina Mahfouz will write the screenplay. Janaya Cowie, Wiley's sister, is an executive producer, along with SBTV founder Jamal Edwards.

"This is my life, my highs and lows, but it's not really all about me," Wiley said. "When I make music, help the scene or even do something like this, it's like I'm not alone any more. It's for people who grew up like me. I'm doing it to help people who are lost like me."
