Suge Knight Allegedly Hospitalized For an Undisclosed Sickness

Suge Knight has been in jail since 2015.

Suge Knight was moved to a hospital for an undisclosed sickness on Tuesday, Fox 11 reported. While specifics about his treatment haven’t yet been revealed, his hospitalization is seen as “routine,” Deputy Charles Moore of the Sheriff's Information Bureau said.

Knight is currently incarcerated, pending trial for murder. The 52-year-old has had a fair amount of health issues since being jailed in 2015, such as needing to be treated for blood clots in 2017.

The former Death Row Records executive was charged with murder and attempted murder after hitting Terry Carter and Cle “Bone” Sloan” with his truck in the parking lot of a Compton restaurant in 2015. According to the L.A. Times, the incident was the result of an argument on the Straight Outta Compton film set. Carter died from his injuries, while Sloan was severely injured. Knight allegedly fled the scene, returned, and has since pled not guilty.

There has been an almost three-year delay in his trial. In late March, Judge Ronald S. Coen dismissed attorney Dominique Banos from Knight’s defense team, pointing to a conflict of interest. Two of Knight’s previous lawyers were released after being implicated in a witness tampering indictment. Per the Associated Press, Coen stated Banos is a target in the tampering case.

Since 2015, Knight has been accused of witness tampering and disclosing sealed evidence. In early February, Knight’s fiancée, Toi-Lin Kelly was also sentenced to three years in prison for purportedly facilitating talks between Knight and producers of a BET documentary on Death Row Records.
