Just as I am certain of my status as the greatest writer of my generation, Smokepurpp is positive he's the best artist among rap's new wave.

"I'm gonna come clean whether y'all like it or not, whether y'all hate me or not," Smokepurpp said in a delectably blunt-filled Instagram Story update Monday. "Out of everybody coming up in this generation, everybody's cool and shit, but I'm the best and I know it. I do the most, you feel me? And that's all I have to say. I know I'm the best comin' up."

As for the validity of Smokepurpp's "best" claim, well, that's entirely up to you. Not only does Smokepurpp's name instruct us all to engage in one of life's most rewarding activities, he's also a noted fan of the antics of the late GG Allin. The cover of his debut mixtape Deadstar is an obvious nod to a similarly death-y photo of Allin, who died of an accidental overdose back in 1993.

Next for Smokepurpp is the release of his Murda Beatz collab project Bless Yo Trap, featuring the recently released single "Do Not Disturb." Speaking with Zane Lowe last month when premiering the Lil Yachty-featuring track, Smokepurpp said the entire project came together during extended "chilling" sessions over the last few months. "It was never forced or nothing," he said. "It was a good album. It came together well, connected well."
