Kodak Black Says He Is Now in Protective Custody, But Wants to Be Released

Kodak: "I’m a sniper, put me back in the jungle."

Kodak Black has reportedly received extra protection in Broward County Jail. And he isn’t too happy about it.

One week after he was released from solitary confinement, the Painting Pictures rapper hit up social media to tell fans he has been moved to protective custody. HotNewHipHop captured a screenshot of the now-deleted post:

“I don’t understand why these ppl put me in this square ass pc dorm today all of a sudden,” Kodak wrote in the caption. “I been here bout 3 months. Bitch I’m a sniper put me back in the jungle, I ain’t on this weak ass shit, I’m from the projects. Trying to assassinate a nigga character and shit.”

Kodak Black Says He Was Placed in Protective Custody

Protective custody is a type of confinement typically reserved for inmates who are at risk of being harmed by either outside sources or other convicts. The types of inmates usually placed in protective custody include former law enforcement officers, attorneys, informants, and celebrities like Kodak. It’s unclear if the rapper has been involved in physical altercations or at the receiving end of threats.

Kodak has been behind bars since mid-January when officers raided his Florida home and arrested him on charges of grand theft of a firearm, child neglect, possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of a weapon by a felon, and two counts of probation violation. Though some of the charges have since been dropped, Kodak was hit with two new charges last month: felony possession of cannabis and possession of ammunition by a delinquent.

The 20-year-old is also facing sexual assault charges stemming from a 2016 incident in Florence County, South Carolina.
