English singer Dua Lipa made her 'Saturday Night Live' debut tonight, performing her Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hit, 'New Rules.' This was her first appearance on the late-night sketch show, alongside Natalie Portman as host.
After Portman introduced Lipa, the singer performed her hit tracks 'New Rules' and 'Homesick' for the audience. Watch the full performance on Gossip Cop.
Fans of the artist were excited to see their favorite star on the television.
The up-and-coming artist posted a tweet before the performance, saying that appearing on the show was "a dream come true." She wrote: “I AM THE MUSICAL GUEST ON @NBCSNL ON THE 2ND OF FEB!” she wrote. “I have the craziest butterflies rn and I’m nervous just typing this out. A dream come true…someone pinch me!” She was so excited, in fact, that she's tweeted the wrong date: She performed on February 3rd.
The young singer received five nominations for the 2018 BRIT Awards, which will be held on the 21st of this month at the O2 Arena in London. The five nominations place Lipa in the history books as the most nominated woman at the BRIT awards.
Lipa, who began her singing career on YouTube uploading videos of herself covering songs when she was a teen, has a long list of artists she'd like to work with. "I’d love to work with Drake, I’d love to work with Frank Ocean, Jay Z and Kanye," she said in a June interview with Complex. "The list is endless."
