Still celebrating her Brit Award nomination for "You Don't Know Me" with Jax Jones, London-born chanteuse RAYE is today sharing a remix of her new single, "Decline"—featuring Mr. Eazi—which samples Ja Rule and Ashanti's hit from 1999, "Always On Time". Recruiting grime beatsmith Zdot for the bass-shuddering backdrop, Brummie MC-of-the-moment Jaykae treats us to a barrage of rhymes about how we, the fellas, feel when things go awry in a relationship.
"It's always good to have two sides to a story and I'm glad I could give the mandem's perspective," he told Complex in an email. "Ringing someone and getting air is never nice after all, so it's good to be able to tell them just how annoying it is [laughs]." And RAYE appreciates the effort: "Jaykae and Zdot go hard on this remix! 'Decline' is such a special tune to me, and they've made it super sick and brought a whole new edge to it. Love to Complex for the premiere."
