At the top of next year, as with every year, the Queen will give out her annual plaudits as part of the New Year Honours. Knighthoods, CBEs (Commander of the British Empire), OBEs (Officer of the British Empire) and MBEs (Member of the British Empire), damehoods, lordships and more are all given out to celebrities and members of the public who have contributed something significant to their particular field.
This year, none other than the Godfather of Grime, Wiley, has been announced as one of 2018's MBE recipients. The award, it's been reported, is for "services to music" — quite right after two decades in the game. Grace LaDoja, Skepta's manager, will also receive an MBE for her staggeringly impressive work in UK music.
