Until this year, it had been a while since Massacooramaan released any music, and five years since his last EP Dead Long Time. Back in August, he made his return with the Drum Fission EP on Fade To Mind, and now, just months later, he's already got a new EP called Cave Vision (out today on the same label). The six-track release promises dubby, jungle-influenced rollers, each inspired by a period of isolation in Dave Quam's life as he struggled with drug abuse.
Key track "Fossil Water", which you can listen to exclusively below, is icy, dubby, slightly jazzy, and there's a constant threat of breaks in the mix. It's appropriate that Massacooramaan should make his return via Fade To Mind, the label he joined and connected with so early on. Let's just hope this streak of productivity continues.
