Just in time for the weekend, East New York's Epic B is here with a brand new EP of off-kilter, bass-heavy club tracks. Clearly drawing inspiration from the respective club scenes of nearby Jersey, Philly and Baltimore, Epic B's Late Night FlexN and the 'flex dance music' scene that gives it its name could almost be compared to gqom with its chugging rhythms and stripped-back approach. If the four-track Late Night FlexN EP, which drops today via Swing Ting, is the first your hearing from the scene, there's no better time to dig deeper into Epic and the rest of the emerging New York scene. (Tip: start with Uninamise, who co-produced one of the tracks on the EP).
