Fresh off his headline-making interview with Beanie Sigel, Taxstone is back with another gem of an interview. This time, it's with Jeezy, who wastes no time in getting down to business about his thoughts on the music industry. "It was a whole process," he said about deciding to rap. "When this shit was starting to take a turn for me, I was one foot in one foot out for real. I had to make a real life decision that came with a lot of consequences. So I lost a lot of friends with my decision to pursue rap. A lot of motherfuckers looked upon it like I was selling out. I had a few situations where it was a little aggressive in the city."
According to Jeezy, the decision was a big risk. "That's the difference between going to prison for 20-30 years and doing something that you love every day. A lot of motherfuckers get scared, like I'ma just stay with the money." For him, the allure of doing something he was passionate about ended up being too strong. "My mental was, okay they're not gonna out-talk street shit to me because I know it too well. But they're not gonna out-hustle me. So that's why I depend on my hustle, and the fact that I wasn't scared to invest in myself."
