The fact that nobody can understand anything Desiigner is saying is well-established, but a new game puts your deciphering skills to the test for real.
This interactive quiz, aptly titled "What is Desiigner Saying?," plays short clips of Desiigner songs and asks you to decipher the lyrics. There are 10 rounds, and you have 5 seconds to guess each one after being played the clip. If you get three wrong, you're out. The questions range from easy ones ("Caliber, caliber, caliber") to ones that are damn near indecipherable. If you get through the whole quiz quickly, you can add your name to the leader board and prove to your friends that you're the biggest Desiigner stan of them all.
Desiigner is hardly the first rapper to catch flak for rapping incoherently. The complaint actually dogs a number of new-school rappers, including Young Thug, Future, Rich Homie Quan, and Lil Yachty. Wiz Khalifa recently referred to it as "mumble rap" in a radio interview, noting that it had become a big trend in hip-hop.
Still, Desiigner has been particularly noted for his indecipherable rap style. This has become so much of a problem that Genius actually had to have him sit down and read the lyrics word-for-word in a video so that people could understand what he was saying.
