All eyes are on R&B right now thanks in part to releases from PARTYNEXTDOOR, Bryson Tiller, Kehlani and plenty of other artists who took over the scene this year. Through the cluster, a new, enigmatic act, dvsn, stands out.
Almost nothing is known about dvsn, but OVO-affiliated producer Nineteen85—who crafted "Hotline Bling" and "Hold On, We're Going Home"—is somehow involved. Until today, dvsn's SoundCloud page only featured two songs—"The Line" and "With Me"—both of which were played during Nineteen85's OVO Sound Radio mix.
Both "The Line" and "With Me" are spectacular and have since reached over 100,000 plays on SoundCloud as the buzz surrounding dvsn continues to grow. Fans have speculated that the vocalist behind the act is actually Nineteen85, though unnamed sources told Noisey that it's not him. Today, dvsn shared a brand new song titled "Too Deep."
Much like dvsn's previous releases, "Too Deep" features the soft yet powerful vocals over some stripped down and enchanting production. Similar to the Weeknd and PND before them, dvsn is using mystery and intrigue to create an organic buzz that seems to be working. You can get familiar with all three of the songs that dvsn has released below, while they're also available to purchase on iTunes.
