Shigeto Returns With The 'Intermission' EP, Drops "Do My Thing"

Utterly mesmerising.

Detroit's Shigeto has been rather quiet of late. The last substantial release we had from him was 2013's No Better Time Than Now album, but he's hardly been resting on his laurels. In fact, he's been doing a little bit of creative soul-searching, exploring different sounds and evolving as an artist. "I've been on the road for a long time now and also have been working on other projects," he explains. "I haven't found the next step for me yet. I've been making loads of music as always, but I'm still looking for that concrete new path."

In our humble opinion, it may serve him well to avoid rushing that process; as new track "Do My Thing" shows, this mental space Shigeto finds himself in has yielded phenomenal results. The track comes from his impending and aptly named Intermission EP (due October 30 on Ghostly International), a fascinating insight into this transition period which has given us one of the most mercurial and mysterious pieces of electronica in recent memory.
