We've been keeping a keen eye on R&B progressive Iris Gold for a while now, not least because of her carefree debut "Goldmine". That track introduced us to a psychedelia and West Coast-influenced singer who reveled in the chance to leave her comfort zone and experiment. On her latest single, "Color Trip", Gold goes down a slightly grittier, though no less psychedelic, route on which to layer her velvety vocals. It's a neat counterpoint to the summer vibes of her debut and showcases an artist with no artistic limits, a quality that no doubt served her well when she supported Taylor Swift at Hyde Park this summer. With moves this big so early in her career, the whole world will be watching Iris Gold to see where she goes next.
