We were introduced to Yours Truly, T.Y. via “1991,” a satisfyingly smooth, melodic cut produced by Chef Byer. The Hamilton-based rapper connects with Byer again on the new single “Do It,” featuring Toronto mainstay Rich Kidd, and Complex has the exclusive premiere.

“Do It” features a brooding bassline, descending piano chords, and a razor-sharp synth lead, all cooked to perfection by Chef Byer. T.Y. flexes his melodic sensibility on the motivational manifesto, giving us some insight into his motives—evidently, the stakes are high for this Steel City native. “This song means a lot to me because it expresses why I do what I do,” T.Y. told Complex. “There's a lot of people on my team. If I fail, we're all fucked."

Failure is not an option. Stream Yours Truly, T.Y.’s “Do It,” featuring Rich Kidd, below. Stay tuned for The Beautiful Exchange EP, dropping July 14th.
