"It's more than poetry" is the mantra of south London spoken word artist, Raphael Blake, and in the case of his latest offering, "Pilot", it's rings most true. A stunning autobiographical poem about the dreams of a young aspiring pilot, Blake touches on issues surrounding race, class, and inner-city upbringings over an experimental production that sounds like a toy being wound up on loop. This track is lifted from Blake's forthcoming project, The Undergrad, which is expected later this year. But, until then, "fasten your seatbelt and hold on tight/ I think I've just found a way that we can take this to the skies." Check out the hazy, thought-provoking video for "Pilot" below.
