I'm not sure why it feels like it's been so long since Ikonika dropped her 2013 LP Aerotropolis; that album is just over a year old. Oddly enough, "Praxis," which is taken from Ikonika's Position EP (which is due out on August 25 via Hyperdub), falls back towards her 2010 debut Contact, Love, Want, Have, although it focuses more on the mood and vibes of the melodies she's weaved together. It's sad, as at three minutes and 22 seconds, it feels too short; I need a wave like this to last for a bit. Props to her for dwelling in a path all her own, though. This one has enough turn down to keep the late-night heads satisfied, but a consistent beat that's keeping things moving swimmingly. Stream the full track below.
