For years, I'd been hearing about Goldie working with an orchesra, and the whole "Sine Tempore" project. It looks like after years of talking about it, Goldie did it, collaborating with The Heritage Orchestra for a complete reworking of his seminal debut album Timeless, which they performed live this past June at The Royal Festival Hall. Released today is the official video (directed by Lyle Lindgren) delves a little into why it's happening now (Goldie makes a good point, basically saying that with the advances in tech and sound, it makes sense to attempt this today as opposed to when the project initially dropped). Goldie's worked with an orchestra before, but this had to have been much deeper. The intro is cool, where the orchestra tears through "Inner City Life," but it's when they really start delving into the other moments of the "Timeless" opus that it gets crazy. Get them chills when that "Pressure" vocal drops? Did you see Goldie's reaction when it all came together (around 4:18)? This is probably how he envisioned it two decades ago. Beautiful moment.
