Kidnap Kid is one of those names that's been percolating on the outskirts of a real North American breakout. He's getting looks from all the 'right' spots and he's putting out quality songs. Kidnap Kid's newest song, "Like You Used To" is just beautiful, and not a surprise considering it's come from Black Butter Records, a label that has so perfectly positioned itself at the intersection of a new wave of UK pop and dance music. "Like You Used To" features soulful vocals, over a steady flowing house rhythm as the song progresses through an expansive tender melodic deepness not unlike that of UK indie band, The xx. The song is the second side to "Stronger," and together they are the perfect example of why Kidnap Kid is primed for a break out.
