Last night in Boston, EDM DJ/producer Zedd kicked off his North American "Moment Of Clarity tour at the House of Blues which ended in tragedy as one audience member died of an apparent overdose while two others were hospitalized for similar conditions.

According to the Boston Globe, the overdoses occurred around 1 a.m. in the morning. A female attendee was pronounced dead en route to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Another female and male were transported there as well, and were listed in serious condition earlier today.

Jay Anderson, a spokesman for the House of Blues, released a statement today regarding incident. "Last evening, there were guests at our venue in need of medical treatment during the performance. They were assisted by Boston EMS as well as on-site emergency medical personnel and then transported to local medical facilities," he says. "One individual has unfortunately passed away and our thoughts go out to their family and friends for their loss. This matter is under investigation and we are continuing to work with local officials."

Zedd was scheduled for another show in Boston tonight, but that show has since been cancelled. The House of Blues will also shut down for an unknown period of time as a full investigation takes place. You can read Zedd's tweets on the incident below.
