Although we missed Q-Tip on G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer, the co-founder of A Tribe Called Quest is still keeping his promise to deliver new music.

Speaking with VIBE at this year’s BET Hip-Hop Awards, Q-Tip spoke on his new album, The Last Zulu, tentatively scheduled for a 2013 release. We would expect that Kanye West would be heavily involved in the project, but Tip says it will be all him on the record.

“It's going to be me, straight up and down,” he said. "Y'all know that. That's the thing about [Kanye.] He respects me and I respect him. I'm coming with that boom bap, unrelenting, lyrical, thoughtful, edgy... street. I'm really excited about it, and it's called The Last Zulu.”

There’s no word on what the production or feature artists will be, but he did reveal an upcoming collaboration with Busta Rhymes. From the looks of his excitement, it should be worth the wait.

“It's called 'I Wanna Thank You,' and I'm encouraging everybody out there to blog, tweet, Facebook, anything about it. Let's sign a petition. The petition is called 'Busta Rhymes Make "I Wanna Thank You" Your First Single.'”
