With the South running rap for the past couple of years, up-and-coming artists out of New York have not taken off as often as we'd expect. One artist still maintaining that street appeal as well as keeping the New York sound alive is Troy Ave, who recently linked with Prodigy on "Dirty Martini."
The visual is everything you'd expect from a street point of view: drug transactions, goons on the block and good drinks at the local bar. Plus, the track has that real grimey '90s sound. Troy Ave's mixtape Bricks In My Backpack 2: Powder To The People is due out August 30.
