A shooting in Tulare County, California has left six dead.
6 ABC reports that among the victims were a 17-year-old mother and her 6-month-old baby. The shooting took place at around 3:30 a.m. early Monday morning at a residence in Goshen.
Two people were discovered dead in the street, and a third person had been fatally shot while walking out of the home. The remaining three victims were in the residence, one of whom was alive. Unfortunately, the man later passed away at a hospital.
Authorities arrived on the scene after receiving a call of gunfire and initially thought that the shooting was still active due to how many bullets were fired. They are now searching for two suspects in connection to the incident.
Police believe the shooting was purposeful. “We also believe this was not a random act of violence. We believe this was a targeted family,” Sheriff Mike Boudreaux told the news outlet. “We believe that there are gang associations involved in this scene, as well as potential narcotics investigations.”
Police had already searched for narcotics at the home last week.
