Austin Bombing Suspect's Blog Posts Condemn LGBTQ Rights and Abortion

New reports suggest that Austin bombing suspect Mark Anthony Conditt was homophobic and anti-abortion. TMZ reports Conditt wrote several blog posts about his beliefs for his online American government class at Austin Community College in 2012.

"If a woman does not want a baby, or is incapable of taking care of one, she should not participate in activities that were made for that reason," he wrote in one post. In another, he stated that he doesn't "believe it is proper to pass laws stating that homosexuals have 'rights.'"

While Conditt had regressive thoughts about the LGBTQ community and women's rights, he's surprisingly all for sex offenders' rights. In a post titled "Why we might want to consider doing away with Sex Offender Registration," Conditt criticized the idea of sex offenders needing to register themselves on a public list.

"Will putting him on a list make it better? Wouldn't this only make people shun him, keep him from getting a job, and making friends? Just for a crime that he may have committed over 15 years ago as an adolescent?" he wrote.

Conditt, who reportedly detonated a bomb to kill himself when police approached his vehicle, was also in favor of the death penalty. "Living criminals harm and murder again—executed ones do not," read the harrowing post. About a year later, his mother, who homeschooled him, shared that he was going on a "mission trip," reports TMZ.
