Video Shows Mitch McConnell Freezing During Press Conference Again

In July, the 81-year-old Republican had a similarly alarming moment. Ironically, this time it happened after facing a question about running for re-election.

For the second time in weeks, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has been seen freezing and having difficulty speaking while taking questions from reporters.

The latest incident, per WLWT, took place as the Republican senator was attempting to answer questions surrounding a Chamber of Commerce event in Kenton County, Kentucky.

After being asked to share his thoughts on running for re-election in 2026, the 81-year-old turtle cosplayer at first signaled that he had trouble hearing the question. From there, he appeared to freeze once the question was repeated, prompting a nearby aide to step in.

The moment is similar to one that made headlines in July. As seen below, McConnell—who's alleged to be worth tens of millions of dollars yet has repeatedly pushed back against wage increases for everyday people—seemingly froze up for an estimated 20-second period before temporarily stepping away from the presser.

In a statement issued after the latest televised freeze, a McConnell rep claimed the senator "felt momentarily lightheaded" at Wednesday's event.
