Weed has finally entered the mainstream. With less restriction and more innovation, the modern pot industry is booming, and taking us to new highs.
Whether you're a classic stoner like Snoop Dogg (who mostly sticks to bud and has a surprisingly Etsy-looking weed line), vape bro like Leo, noted bong enthusiast like Miley Cyrus, "weed juice" advocate like Leslie Mann, or miraculous pot angel like Rihanna (who else can smoke blunts and maintain that voice?), the 21st century has room for all kinds of weed lovers.
With the advent of new stoner tech, there are now plenty of lung-friendly ways to get high beyond pot brownies.

NTRSCTN interviewed Susana Rionda of the Los Angeles Patients and Caregivers Group dispensary about non-smokable weed items (and we even tested out the products for you). Here are five products to help you celebrate 4/20:
1. Cheeba Chews
Even though Cheeba Chews are technically an edible, the experience is nothing like scarfing down brownies from your college days. They’re more like Tootsie rolls that taste like weed and also get you high.
Cheeba Chews' motto is “Potent. Consistent. Discree,” and High Times called it "America's Favorite Edible." The general consensus? These weed tootsies will make you feel like an elegant stoner lady or gentleman.
"Most of our patients that prefer these are generally the ones that are affiliated with stunt work or sports, or have old sports injuries," Rionda said. "People who play tennis, have joint pain, knee pain, things like that, really like the non-psychoactive Cheeba Chew because they can take the medicine and then go golf, participate in their stunt falling off a building."
"It has absolutely no psychoactive effect whatsoever, and you get a relief the pain."
There are two types of Chews: indica and sativa. "They do not do the same job. One is for daytime, one is for nighttime," Rionda explained.
"This," she said while holding a sativa Chew, "helps you focus on a project, clean out your sock drawer, reorganize—do what you need to do to get some work done, and it also will make you feel euphoric." Meanwhile, the indica Chew also has some euphoric properties, but Rionda said "it’s great for sleep, it’s heavy, etc."
I ate a sativa Chew about 30 minutes before watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens at a $2 theater. I didn't feel baked out of my brain, but was definitely relaxed and laughing loudly and freely (big belly laughs, not just stoned giggles).
The next day, I ate an indica Chew at around 4 p.m. I resolved to attend a yoga class, but ended up convincing myself that I'd do "yoga at home," which eventually devolved into me watching The Office while reaching for my toes once every few minutes.
2. Bhang CBD Chewing Gun
Bhang CBD Chewing Gum's active ingredient is cannabidiol, not THC, which means you won't get the euphoric feeling you'd normally associate with getting high.
"You won’t feel any euphoric effect whatsoever; you will feel a slight sense of elation, just like you would if you had a really great piece of dark chocolate. It’s not even the equivalent of having a glass of wine, so you’re not impaired whatsoever," Rionda explained. "You can [be] functional, but you will feel a relief from pain, from gas in your stomach. This really helps a lot with people who suffer from [irritable bowel syndrome]."
I figured the gum would work best as a mild remedy to my lengthy morning commute, so instead of feeling stressed out on the train, I popped one or three of these (you get eight pieces of gum for $16). The result? I felt less of that everyday pressure to hurry things up as much as possible, but never felt stoned. The gum also put extra pep in my step, though I still needed coffee when I got to the office.
3. Bhang CBD Breath Spray
Bhang also makes a $16 Breath Spray, which Rionda recommended as an anxiety-fighter for "people who are afraid to fly, who are putting themselves in an anxiety-ridden situation, people who have jobs that they hate" (which sounds like everyone in the world).
Although the spray won't make you tired or energized, it will "make you the best version of yourself when you've had a good day," she said, adding that users should pump four sprays underneath their tongue "before they have to go into work, before they have to go into the studio, before they have to do a record, or deal with their boss, or do anything that’s going to make them uncomfortable."
I tried it before a Tinder date, spritzing it in my mouth on the subway before dinner. It didn't feel like hitting a joint or even a water pipe; instead, the spray was more like one lazy inhale from a vape pen. I sort of just slid into the feeling of being giddy for about an hour or so, though it definitely made for a nice date. Plus, I had minty-fresh breath.
4. Foria Lube
I'd read about Foria Lube before visiting the Los Angeles Patients and Caregivers Group, and already had mixed feelings about it. Some people reported getting "pussy stoned," but I just didn't understand why anyone would prefer that to being all-over stoned. Why would you look for an alternative to smoking before sex?
You're supposed to apply Foria to your genitals around 20 to 30 minutes before doing the deed; then, Rionda said, you'll "feel a sort of warmth, like a tingling sensation."
She added, "You’re not going to feel high in any way, unless you ingest it, or your partner ingests it."
At $40 a bottle, I didn't expect to have to drink the lube (maybe I'm not doing sex right, but I don't generally ingest a ton of lube during the act). But I tried to be a sport, and spritzed a little in my mouth and down below.
The sex felt great, but it seemed like the lube mostly affected blood flow to my vag and ass. This sensation can be complemented by the all-over body high you get when you smoke, but on its own, the lube is like a little pussy treat. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to enhance their sexual tingles without the negative sense of losing control that people can get when they're high.
Rionda agreed, saying some partners are "not really as present" when they get high the old-fashioned way before sex. So, if you want to have a sober mind but still experience the physical joys of stoned sex, give the lube a try.
5. Sprig Soda
Sprig Soda may sound sweet and harmless, but it can definitely get you stoned. For $8, one can of this fizzy drink contains 45 milligrams of THC.
"You start to feel it faster than something your body has to break down, so [people] enjoy having to drink it and have it go through their body," Rionda explained. "You will feel euphoric; you will feel that high that you’re looking for, depending how much you drink. It’s really difficult to monitor doses in beverages because it’s hard to tell how much you’re drinking, so I wouldn’t recommend it to a novice."
I drank a Sprig Soda before watching Deadpool, and felt great, though it definitely won't get you as f*cked up as a pot brownie. You won't experience sensory overload or get the urge to lie down, but you will feel like you did a few hits—without coughing up a lung.
