Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren said that compliance to stay-at-home orders is "starting to look a whole lot like willful slavery" in a tweet that has since been deleted.

Lahren posted a series of tweets expressing her support toward the minuscule anti-lockdown demonstrations that have cropped up in states like Michigan, Ohio, and North Carolina, among others. In the midst of her diatribe on how the ongoing stay-at-home orders have impacted the livelihood of millions of Americans, the Fox Nation host took it too far when she tweeted out the slavery comparison.

The point was to flatten the curve, not eradicate the virus. It may take a year or more to kill the virus but the economy and livelihoods of millions are about to be destroyed entirely. Enough. #ReopenAmerica

The supply chains are weakening, Americans are losing everything & elected officials are giving vague answers as to when it will end. The point was to flatten the curve but here we are waiting and holding our breath hoping the gov will allow us to earn a living for our families.

As is custom, Tomi received the typical backlash over her takes.

This is so offensive. Not because it’s politically incorrect, but because it’s politically incoherent, dangerous, and straight up stupid.

Hey ⁦@TomiLahren⁩ go ride the subway, shop at a mall and hold the escalator handrail and hug random “fans” with no mask on video or shut your ignorant mouth. https://t.co/jjOG9UX2A5

Hey #TerribleTomi, news flash: There's nothing "willful" about slavery and there's zero resemblance between shelter-in-place orders and any imprisonment or slavery! https://t.co/ryDGwEuyMX

But this one was different. Since sensationalism is part of Tomi's brand, it's shocking to see that even she knows there is a line that she shouldn't cross. Her backtrack fittingly comes around the same time Fox News axed Diamond and Silk for questioning if the number of deaths from coronavirus among Americans was being inflated to make Trump look bad.
