Complex UK, Lynx and SocialFIXT have partnered with some of the most powerful Black personalities in UK culture on a brand new show exploring racial microaggressions: The Race Card.

Turning the accusation of ‘playing the race card’ on its head, the three-part series sees influential Black Britons open up about their personal experiences and reactions to racial stereotyping at school, at work, and in wider society.

Lynx has called in members of its contributor family for the series, with AJ Tracey and Jesse Lingard leading our version of The Race Card, in addition to grime star Novelist, presenter and comedian Sideman, writer and stylist Ayishat Akanbi, and presenter Chanté Joseph.

While ‘playing the race card’ is often used in an attempt to gaslight and silence legitimate debate, our new series looks to turn this on its head and welcomes unfiltered discussions on the Black experience in the UK.

The Race Card was created in partnership with SocialFIXT — the online job-board platform and community connecting Black talent to jobs in the creative industries — and paq — the Black-owned creative agency that delivers their vision with purpose, authenticity and quality.

As part of their commitment to racial equality, Lynx will also be building on this relationship with SocialFIXT. The partnership is part of a broader diversity and inclusion plan focused on building a bridge between Black talent and the marketing and creative industries.

Episode 1 of The Race Card featuring AJ Tracey, Jesse Lingard and more will drop next week on Complex.
