A shooting inside a St. Paul, Minnesota bar early Sunday morning left a young woman dead and 14 others injured, CNN reports.
St. Paul Chief of Police Todd Axtell took to Twitter this afternooon to announce the arrests of three male suspects. “Three men have been arrested in connection to this morning’s shootings and the tragic death of a woman in her 20s,” he wrote. “The suspects are currently in the hospital being treated for injuries.”
Police found a “chaotic scene” when they arrived at a crowded bar around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, with at least 15 people having suffered gunshot wounds. A woman in her 20s was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. Fourteen other people were taken to area hospitals for treatment. All of them are expected to survive.
“My heart breaks for the woman who was killed, her loved ones and everyone else who was in that bar this morning,” Axtell said in a statement. “In an instant, they found themselves caught in a hellish situation. I want them to know that we have the best investigators in the country, and we won’t stop until we find the people responsible for this madness. We will do our part to hold them accountable.”
