Kentucky man arrested after stealing over 100 pairs of women's underwear

A Kentucky man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly breaking into multiple homes and stealing over 100 pairs of women’s underwear.

Local news station WDRB reports John Hawkins III, 36, of Harrodsburg, KY, has been charged with seven counts of burglary in the second degree. Hawkins III is accused of burglarizing several homes in the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park in Frankfort back in the summer of 2021, stealing over 100 pairs of women’s bras and underwear, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Office took to Facebook to announce the news.

“Hawkins was charged with 7 counts of burglary 2nd degree, resulting from a lengthy investigation into a string of burglaries in the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park in Frankfort, KY,” the Sheriff’s Office wrote. “According to the investigation, Hawkins is suspected in burglarizing multiple homes and removing only women’s underwear.”

Investigators arrested Hawkins at his Harrodsburg home on Saturday, with a search warrant leading to the discovery of hundreds of pairs of women’s underwear and bras officials believe were from the Franklin County homes.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the Harrodsburg Police Department for their assistance and apprehension of Hawkins,” Franklin County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook. “With the teamwork of the Harrodsburg Police, Hawkins was taken into custody without incident.”

The department added, “If you feel you were a victim in 2021 and did not report to authorities, please contact Detective Farmer at 502-875-8740.”
