Chilling crime scene bodycam footage from the Idaho Murders has been released.

The footage—released to the public Friday, August 22 shows the moments police arrived at the home to discover the grizzly murders committed by Bryan Kohberger and their interview with one of the surviving roommates.

The footage starts out with officers combing the house and discovering the bodies of the murdered college kids while several people stand outside the house crying.

Officers clear the house before interviewing roommate Dylan Mortensen about what happened the night before.

Fighting through tears and wrapped in a blanket, Mortensen tells officers she was in her room when she heard Kaylee Goncalves go upstairs to bed and describes, "I heard her scream ... she said someone's here and she screamed and just ran downstairs." She continues, "Then I heard someone in the bathroom and I heard her crying and I heard some guy say 'You're going to be okay, I'm going to help you.'"

She went on to describe seeing Kohberger in the home, saying, "I opened the door for a second and I saw this guy and he was not insanely tall but he was wearing all black and this mask which was covering his forehead and his mouth."

From there, Mortensen says she ran downstairs into her other roommate's room and the two went to sleep only to wake up the next morning to discover no one else had woken up.

It was back in November 2022 when Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin were all stabbed to death by Bryan Kohberger.

Much to the dismay of the public, and some of the victim's families—Kohberger struck a plea deal in July 2025 when he pled guilty to four counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony burglary.

He was sentenced to four consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole.
