Just last month, on July 23, Bryan Kohberger was sentenced to four consecutive life sentences for the murders of Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20. All four victims were students at the University of Idaho and were killed in the early morning hours of November 13, 2022, in their off-campus home. Kohberger took a plea deal in order to avoid the death penalty.
Now, some information is being brought forward about Kohberger’s strange behavior at Washington State University, where he was a criminal justice student.
Kohberger was reportedly known to make “discriminatory comments.” He did this so often that his classmates would keep a running tally of these comments. These remarks were, at times, sexist and homophobic.
One female student who interacted with Kohberger was left so terrified of him that she would begin to avoid walking alone on campus. After declining an invitation to go out for coffee with him, this student revealed that he would begin showing up where she worked.
There was once an incident in which Kohberger reportedly “cornered this student” and was "standing in a manner where she could not leave without running into him.”
This student said that while attending Washington State University, she met many students, but "Kohberger was the only one to make her feel uncomfortable."
Another female student was reportedly left in tears after engaging in a tense classroom discussion.
Kohberger was so highly disliked that one of his professors even wanted him to be pulled from the criminal justice program.
"He is smart enough that in four years we will have to give him a Ph.D," the professor told colleagues, according to police documents. "Mark my word, I work with predators, if we give him a Ph.D. that's the guy that in that many years when he is a professor, we will hear (he) is harassing, stalking, and sexually abusing ... his students."
