Samsung's highly-anticipated Galaxy Fold has been plagued by issues since it was first unveiled in February. In April, technology reviewers were given early models of the phone and complained about the sets breaking after less than a week of use, prompting the Korean conglomerate to postpone its release. The new May 31 release date was given, but nowEngadget reports that it's likely it'll be pushed back once again.

Best Buy has reportedly canceled all pre-orders for the Galaxy Fold, and other retailers are expected to follow shortly. Samsung has canceled pre-orders for the smartphone, and any existing pre-orders with other outlets have yet to pin down a shipping date.

"We put our customers first and want to ensure they are taken care of in the best possible manner," Best Buy said in a statement explaining the delay. They did, however, add that the Fold is "one of the most curious and highly anticipated devices of 2019." While it's not uncommon to see last-minute delays for devices sporting cutting edge technology, it's not a good look for Samsung.

The company had to postpone launch events for the phone in China as it didn't meet FTC distance selling regulations. Best Buy and Samsung have yet to provide an updated release date for the Fold.
