Move over, circus peanuts. Candy corn has now assumed the unenviable throne of being America's least favorite Halloween candy in 2019, according to CandyStore.com.

How did CandyStore.com come to this conclusion, aside from sheer common sense? The process was much more thorough than you would believe. The site surveyed over 30,000 of their own customers while also taking into account the best and worst Halloween candy lists published by a number of websites, such as Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, Bon Appetit, and more.

Candies considered undeniably good or bad were given 10 points, and the ones that bottomed out of their respective lists received 1 point. Despite the unfavorable response to candy corn, it was deemed the favorite Halloween candy on last year's list in six states: Alabama, Idaho, Michigan, New Mexico, Rhode Island and South Carolina.

After being overtaken as America's least favorite Halloween candy for 2019, the still disgusting circus peanuts settle in at a well-deserved No. 2 spot with Peanut Butter Kisses rounding out the top three.

Now let's go to the other side of the spectrum and discuss this year's best Halloween candies. The crown goes to Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, the clear-cut favorite among the seven lists that were used to determine its ranking. CandyStore.com says that Reese’s came in first in six of the aforementioned lists and third in the other. Meanwhile, Snickers and Twix finished second and third, respectively.

Head on over to CandyStore.com to see the entire top 10 of the 2019 best and worst Halloween candy lists.
