Just ask our trio of tastemakers— JaLisa E. Vaughn, Reese Laflare, and Chelsea Briggs —who let us tag along as they hit up a few of their favorite local hot spots and kickback locations from Dallas to Los Angeles. With food and beer galore on the menu, they’ve laid the blueprint for you and your crew to own the summer.

JaLisa is at the center of all things fashion, lifestyle, faith, and travel. The Dallas-based style maven is versatile when it comes to kicking it. Keeping it chill is the name of her game, but whether she’s out and about with her girls or kicking it poolside at her home, there’s always going to be spirited fun. JaLisa, who describes herself as the nurturing one of her friends, loves tapping into her inner hostess to make sure everyone has a good time, but she also knows how to find the vibe that’s right when it comes to music and dancing.
Girls Night Out: “On nights that I’m out with my girls, I lean toward a good girls night out filled with laughter, dancing, drinks and food! I love being in the company of people I love, so there’s always a balanced rotation between my solo nights and my night out with the girls.”
Poolside Fun: “During the summer, I have friends over very often—at least once, or every other week—whether it be a pool day or Sunday dinner! I often keep everything stocked, but my friends always bring additional drinks with them, including Dos Equis.”
Keeping it Chill: “My friends are a sports-loving crew, so more often than not, the beer comes out when we have watch parties. So it’s a more chill, laid back time versus when you’re drinking hard liquor.”
Reese Laflare, Rapper/Producer - Los Angeles, CA (via Atlanta, GA)
Reese may have been born in the South, but the City of Angels is his stomping grounds now. The rapper and record producer digs late night skate park sessions, hitting the club, and making audio waves at the studio with his boys. But, his ultimate night out is actually much more lowkey, as he loves hanging with his friends playing a few rounds of Super Smash Bros.
Skating is Life: “Skateparks are like family reunions. I try to go like three times a week. It’s just you and your friends, nothing beats that feeling. But during night time meet-ups we might have way more beer on the scene.”
Weekend Vibes: “With the lifestyle I live most of the time all my experiences are late night. The weekend is usually chill for me ’cause all the action happens from Monday- Thursday. But whether it’s my house or a friend’s house the kickbacks are usually the same vibe—me, my friends, beautiful ladies, and great music.”
Drinks on the House: Hard liquor is the devil! I like freezing cold Dos Equis when it’s hot AF or I’m just thirsty... I love the emerald green bottle; it makes me feel like I have an infinity stone in my hand. That’s why I was yelling, ‘DOS EQUIS TIME,’ everywhere we went. The next rounds on me.”
Chelsea Briggs, On-Air Host - Los Angeles, CA
Chelsea knows how to have a good time. When she’s not handling her on air hosting duties with Billboard, the LA It Girl is likely dancing the night away at the hottest rooftops in town or a chic house in the hills. When the mood calls for dialing it back, Chelsea catches her breath at home, kicking it with friends, binge-watching Netflix with drinks and snacks on deck for some Dos Equis and chill.
Raise the Roof: “I’m a sucker for rooftop bars. My favorite is this one on the Sunset Strip, which is incredible. Its panoramic view of LA is magical during the day and night! The chic decor is so my vibe and the string lights also add to the very loungy and somewhat tropical vibe that makes you feel like you’re on vacation.”
Wet & Wild: “I’m a Taurus—a true earth sign so being outside is my favorite and where I feel most at home. Being poolside with my friends is probably the best way I like to spend my summers. There’s nothing like a pool or beach day with the ones I love. Makes me the happiest. Add chips and guac and some beers and we’re good to go!”
Natural Woman: “Runyon Canyon is my home away from home. I feel at peace when I’m there. The best part about it is the view overlooking Los Angeles. It’s also just super-peaceful for me to be surrounded by all things nature. It’s kinda like my church. I’ve been consistently going to the canyon for 10 years to disconnect from the craziness of the industry and the city. My friends and I go just to get away, talk out our problems, plan our futures. It sounds a little basic, but Runyon Canyon is def one of my very favorite places in all of LA.”
