Reuters reported that the woman came close to Trump’s convoy before she was caught by the police. She had the words "fake peacemaker" scrawled across her chest. Trump was headed down the Champs-Élysées before a ceremony commemorating the end of World War I.
The radical feminist activist group Femen, which is based in Paris, shared that it backed the stunt. Femen often arranges shock protests, opposing sexism, racism, homophobia, and other social issues.
The Paris police said they have apprehended two people for the incident, according to Reuters.
The topless protester caps off another no-good week with Trump in office. After two huge wildfires forced thousands of homeowners to evacuate in California, the president has taken it upon himself yesterday to place the blame squarely on “gross mismanagement of the forests” and even threatened to withhold federal funds. He later tried to walk back his harsh statements by haphazardly sending condolences.
More than 4,000 are fighting the Camp and Woolsey Fires in California that have burned over 170,000 acres. Our hearts are with those fighting the fires, the 52,000 who have evacuated, and the families of the 11 who have died. The destruction is catastrophic. God Bless them all.— Donald J. These California fires are expanding very, very quickly (in some cases 80-100 acres a minute). If people don’t evacuate quickly, they risk being overtaken by the fire. Please listen to evacuation orders from State and local officials!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 10, 2018
Trump's latest controversy comes days after GOP lost the House to the Democrats during midterm elections.
